I presume we're limiting our discussion to guitars?
I'd never really given a rodent's butt one way or the other about guitar colors. I used to think that it didn't matter to me.

Until I went shopping for a brand new '57 Vintage Reissue (they're called AVRI's now I guess, but 30 years ago they were just Reissue')

I played two, one was a two color burst and one was black. Between them the black one felt 'the best' and played 'the best' but I didn't buy it because I thought it looked like ****.

That surprised me. I thought myself above that sort of thing.

Too bad too, because while my perceptions regarding cosmetics were totally superficial, the deficiencies of the one sporting the sunburst were anything but cosmetic...it actually was a piece of ****.

Had I bought the black one, I'd probably still have it... and it would be a trusted and valued old friend with whom I could bare my soul.

Instead I bought the pretty face and now you poor souls have to endure my constant whining about it.

    Does that answer your question?

Olympic White for me. I never thought I would want something so "plain and boring" as a white guitar. I ended up with a white Stratocaster in a trade and it just started to grow on me. One I replaced the pickguard with a 3 ply mint guard, it just clicked for me. White with a mint guard (maple neck) is just sexy to me.

    Gold and Yellow.

If I go blasphemous and put a belly cut and forearm relief on my Classic Series 60's Tele I will probably repaint it Aztec or Gibson Gold top.

I have a '91 PRS CE that is micro metal flake blue, I've had it so long I would like to paint it bright canary yellow just to shake it up.

I will certainly +1 your dislike of Graffiti Yellow. What a horrific color on a guitar.

I'll update my OP by adding Butterscotch, especially on a Tele. I know I know. I saw the light a couple of years ago but I still don't like the color Squier uses on their Teles.

If you apply the "cool wall" rules of Top Gear,
Antigua is in the DB9 fridge.
    To everybody else it's fuggly.

I think Antigua is in its own category. I think it's ugly but I still want one. I saw a 78 about 6 months ago for 799 but couldn't swing it.

I disliked Surf Green for a long time but I now own an American Special in that colour. I still think it's an odd marriage of 70s and 50s aesthetics though.
