It seems that dog come out of a little faster. In the clinic we had days were we had about 20 cats recovering in the 'recovery' area. It was an area that the vet could see well while doing the surgeries so he could keep an eye on them. The vet techs would go though every few minutes and check gum color when the tongue was not still hanging out. Most of them where well awake by the end of the day. Some took awhile but were recovered enough to go home. The staff always did a fantastic job of home care instructions and all patrons got an emergency number for whom ever was on call. That area was known as gorked city. So I am happy your cat is back in the swing of things.
