Growing up in the 60's, I was not a country music fan because it wasn't cool to listen to Country. But, these soul crossovers helped to change my mind.

Not a Country/Soul crossover, but a few weeks ago I saw GangstaGrass perform nearby. They are sort of a fusion of bluegrass/country/“old time” and gangsta/hip-hop.

I rarely listen to the former, and never listen to the latter, but my fiancee and her kids do.

I enjoyed it, at least live.

Versailles? My college roommate used to run the feed store there.

That’s where the post office thinks I live, though I’m really closer to Lexington. I know that store!

I love the Bluegrass area. My son is a sports reporter in Lexington. Lexington was way fun in the 70s. I can remember one fall evening having a naked limbo contest with some DGs on I think the 9th green of the Tates Creek Country Club.

Ha! I had a lot of fun in Lexington in the late 70s too, but sadly there was no naked DG limbo ....

Well for me it was the early 70s. But I'm sure that the hang outs were the same, Two Keys, 803 South, Up Jump the Devil, and then the Tolly Ho for the 54 cent breakfast special.:D

Two Keys is still there! I haven’t been there in ages though.

Tolly Ho moved a few years ago, but they are still around. I still grab a bite in the Ho every once in a while for nostalgia. The menu hasn’t changed. I don’t think the menu sign has changed.

    803 South is gone.

Charlie Brown’s and the Chevy Chase Inn are still pretty much the same as they’ve always been.
