Have been looking at black bridges but couldn't decide which one to go for, or even if its the right thing to do at all, so for now decided to make a bridge cover instead (and either paint or powder coat it black).

Took longer than expected (over 6 hrs) and to be honest not even sure if I like it yet, but....here it is all the same-

I asked Ted, he's still thinking on it too 😁

To be honest it hadn't really crossed my mind.....I might modify the front end so it finished a fraction behind the front of the saddles 🤔
Many players never mute at the bridge but if we mute we tend to rest the palm on the saddles a bit behing the start of the strings.
That way we can control a slight mute by rolling forward onto just the very start of the string.
And move across from low E toward high E to dead mute the bottom when playing the top etc.

Fine work again. I like it. Definitely needs to be black, but it will have a nice modern look when finished.
Thanks 👍

Agreed it needs to be black, just not 100% on the satin textured powder I have in at the moment.....needs to sleep on that one 🤔

I like fabbing aluminum parts but more primitive.
This is a Strat bridge I fabbed some years back which ended up my main favorite guitar for a number of years.
I prefer the feel of a three saddle Tele bridge even on a Strat, for the palm muting.
Took this guitar apart to use the neck but I miss it and need to give it a new neck!

I would be afraid to own a mill. Too many projects I would come up with to get behind on. But an X-Y table on my drill press wold be nice.

Nice work. The shorter version of the cover does look better.
