1590638622594480060187340105495.jpg I have a custom built, custom painted/airbrushed guitar (strat based I'm sure) that I'm trying to hunt down the artist for. Ots my dad's guitar who passed away in '92. I really want to get this thing rebuilt and artwork touched up. It's super important to me. Is there anyone out there who can help???? The only thing I have to go off for the art is the signature "Pamelina 89".

I'm guessing that "Pamelina" is the name of the artwork, or perhaps the model, and it was painted in '89
The artist's initials are likely the "squiggle" below the -89

Honestly, I think it's best to leave it as it is and remember Dad by it. Every scratch and worn spot is something that he put into it while enjoying it.

Forgot to mention, I'm from/in flint. My dad is the reason I live and breath music and I lost him when I was in 4th grade and this is literally THE ONLY THING I got from him after everyone scavenged everything else so again....it means the world to me if anyone knows anything about this artist and also a good tech who can help me bring it back to life.

I guess when you put it like that, it makes for a tough decision. However, there's this part of me who'd love to see it back in the game and would love to honor him by writing some sick music w the same tools he used too. Not to mention......I put some of those scratches there myself as a young lad lol. I guess I'm kinda torn between the 2 now. I really appreciate the insight brother.

    Nice work!

To the OP... I second leaving the paint as is. That's got some personal history and IMO, it'd be a shame to try to correct any flaws.

Good idea. It would be interesting to see if the guitar has factory paint or a custom job. The artist may remember.

I sent her your pic and she said it's her work. You can find her on facebook. I told her you'd be contacting her.

Just be careful of "touch-up" jobs... they don't always come back as expected!

Personally I would leave the artwork alone, but definitely get it fixed and set up.

If you want to freshen it up maybe a new pickguard would get you what you want. But keep the old one.

But whatever you decide, I think you should post more pics! Got to see the headstock at least.

That looks like a Squier Standard with the mirror pickguard, I have the exact guitar, very nice for a Squier. Didn't know they came with HSS also. Been looking for the so elusive matching Telecaster. I would also leave it as is, but ultimately, you'll do what your heart tells to to do. Good luck whichever way you decide to go.
