Threw on a set of XT strings on my Strat a few days ago to replace the good ole Ernie Balls. Both 10-52. So far the XT’s are REALLY thin and brittle. Do these things warm over time? They have a few hours of play after a lot of initial stretching. Kinda missing my bargain bin strings. XT’s def have some chime. Will give em that. Maybe a great string for overwound pups. Fat 50’s trying to spit them out so far.

I have no clue, I find EB’s sound great to me so I just stick with them. Also use Gibson vintage historic strings, pricey but last a long time.

There really is something to Ernie Ball being "Slinky". They just have a slightly softer feel to me. Always have.

Could I detect slinky in a blind feel test? DunnoOld.gif

Ernie Ball is my favorite, I’ve tried others but EB’s are the best.

D'Addario EJ-17 is my go to for my Martin HD-28. I suppose I should try their Earthwood once.

Put me down for EB’s - I feel like I’ve tried countless brands/sizes of strings over the last 25-30 years and I always come back to super slinky’s - they just feel and sound great...

I've always used D'Addario NYXL's in 9 to 42 size on my Strats. But when "VID1900" posted one of his "specials" recently for Ernie Ball Super Slinkys, I bought 10 sets of them (it was a great sale). I've now got them on 3 of my guitars and think they sound and feel great.
