Nice colour, but in the end, it’s a telecaster, no?
Why would you put a strat neck?

It's a Tele, just much more angular. I'm not a big fan of the $1,000+ hybrids that Fender USA does.. but for $400, I can dig this.

Why a Strat neck? because that's what I have an excess of ;). I have only one Tele neck, and it's on my Tele. And strat necks work well on Tele bodies.

It depends on the quality of the neck on there, stock. For $400, I hope it's at least VM/CV quality, and won't need changing at all.

Also tele headstocks look funny and strat headstocks look great.
Hoping for backup here on STRAT talk...

That’s what happens when you turn a Tele out of it’s mould before it’s properly set.

That is actually a cool guitar, but I think it would be even better with a Jazzmaster pickup in the neck.

Since it's birth does anyone know how many times a Tele has been re-invented or re-shaped into something else yet still remains a Tele at heart?

I’d really like an offset tele. I’d probably buy one of those if they had better colours. I thought the American standard in sunburst with parchment guard really worked.

    Edit with pic...

If I didn't already have an "offset series" Fender Duo Sonic I would be really tempted...

The offset I'd like to see more of would have a vintage wound Humbucker in the bridge position with a P90 in the neck position. There are a few but I'd love to see more.

Does nothing for me. It's just a Tele on a Jazzmaster shaped body.

But going back to the title of this thread, I must say there actually is NO Squier. There's no Squier HQ, no Squier employees, no Squier factory. It's only a name. Fender contracts one of the many Southeast Asian guitar factories to make guitars for them, and there's probably not that much difference between the Squier branded guitars, and the Fender copies they're already making.
