Ah, I see. I thought the "Norm" thing was a local phrase like the UK's "Bob's yur uncle".

As for the spiders... LOL.

No, we say Bob's Your Uncle (Or Roberts Your Sisters Brother, if we're feeling particularly wordy)

I was just using ElectGumbos real name for effect

Ill just leave this here as Aussie reference material

Well I ordered that Gravity pedal. Supposed to be a Klon Centaur & TS10 with clipping options for the Klon and a 'Lows' switch for the TS. I just wish it had everything that the original pedal has. It only has 2 jacks, yet you can still use one side or the other by itself with a TRS Y-splitter that splits the signals into 'INPUT' on 1 cable and 'OUTPUT' on the other. So you plug the trs cable into the Klon side and you've now got an input and output on that SIDE. Same thing on the TS10 side.

I know that's not in the DemonFX version because you have to turn it on with dip switches in the back and DFX has no dip switches in theirs. Oh well. It still ought to sound good.

Here's the Nordvang pedal it's sort of copied from

The Gravity pedal came in today. Not bad. I ordered it on Tuesday afternoon and got it on Thursday from Earth City Sound Co. in Mckinney, TX

Its said to be a TS10 & Centaur in 1 pedal. I've learned to take their descriptions with a grain of salt because, on this one for example, they copied and pasted it word for word from the Nordvang site. And I know it's not a direct clone of their pedal since it's missing a lot of options. Makes you wonder about the actual circuit itself and whether they actually copied it or just used their own circuits and just kept the name & exterior design.

Anyway. Ive got a DemonFX Tube Screamer with the TS808 & TS9 in 1 pedal as well as a Golden Horse from Mosky Audio so I directly compared them. From what I could tell, I wouldn't be surprised if they just transplanted theur own circuits into the pedal instead of actually copying Nordvang's pedal. They sounded so similar that you'd be hard pressed to tell which is which in a blind test.

Overall, it sounds great, just like all of their pedals that I've purchased so far. Wanna talk about mid-heavy? It's EXTREMELY mid-heavy when both sides are engaged. The external switches actually do make a difference, as well. The 'Lows' switch does add lows and the clipping switch swaps out the germanium diodes for Schottky diodes that distort? more than the germaniums.

It'll definitely be a useful pedal. Just trying to decide whether to keep the TS and Golden Horse hooked up since I've basically got them both in this pedal, too.

Edit: Here's the inside of each pedal. Finally I can compare the circuits side by side. It's somewhat difficult when you have to switch between tabs to look at each pic. So I figured id post them both here so I can really compare them.

After today, it appears I'll be keeping it. I questioned whether or not I should since it literally seems to be a combo of 2 pedals I already have. This thing is just easier to use than the 2 separate pedals across the board from each other. And I think it even sounds a little better when stacked. I figure I'll keep the TS and Golden Horse hooked up, also. Just in case I may want to stack 2 of either side.

The clipping and lows options are nice to have. I just need to figure out which clipping option is germanium and which is the Schottky diodes. Germaniums don't clip as much but I can't really tell which side is clipping more.

The A-B/B-A switch doesn't appear to be that useful so far. One way sounds markedly different and way more compressed. It's like 1 way is wide open and airy and loud while the other is extremely compressed and sounds like it's coming from far back in the amp while it's covered by an extra heavy blanket, for lack of a better description. It's definitely usable. You'd just have to find a place to use it.

Its a pretty good pedal. Definitely worth the price. I initially considered returning it to exchange it for their '83 Drive pedal, a Centaur & Bluesbreaker in 1. I've got enough of their BB & BB-based pedals so I decided to just keep it. Weirdly, it seems like a pedal I'll use often. It's weird because before now, I hardly ever used my Demon Tube Screamer or Golden Horse and especially not stacked. But it seems that I like how this sounds.

It also stacks well with other pedals. One side engaged along with one side of the DemonFX Steel String Singer was the last one I tried and it sounded marvelous. Even being a partial clone, this really is a great pedal. I'm glad I ordered it.

Now to figure out what I want next. Been considering ordering another Seymour Duncan '59 humbucker for the bridge of my 66 DLX Plus w/ burst finish. If I don't buy one, I'll likely swap the one over from my Goldtop at some point. I'm really curious to see how it sounds after a thread I read at the SD forum, showing the difference in frequency response from 2 guitars with the same pickup swapped into each one. One was a Flying V and the other was an Explorer. Apparently the extra wood in the Explorer caused the pickup to react differently or something. There were obvious peaks and valleys in one graph that weren't in the other.

Anyway. I'm rambling so I'll stop here. Thanks!

I got one of these last summer based on the overwhelmingly positive response to this thread. But I gotta say I have not bonded with it. What am I missing? I have a Demonfx Klon clone and a Westwood and Plumes from EQD, and the Dualgun doesn’t seem to do anything any better than these. I know subjective, but ….

Sorry it’s not working out for you. I have 2 of them now. I can’t explain how you can get what you want out of it. It’s all instinctive to me. Can I suggest that you get the amp more or less making the sound you want and use the DualGun to blow it up bigger. The demos I made using a Deluxe Reverb but I had been using that amp a lot. And I was chasing a distinct SRV sound.

I had gone thru an Archer Icon, Super Six, and a ElMo’ pedal. And I was ballparking what I was looking for but I was having trouble driving or dirtying the sound with out it all falling apart. The Dualgun alone was better than any combination I had …. and it’s pretty much all I’ve used for over a year.

I’m sorry you bought a pedal on my recommendation and you’re not happy with it. I just started down the SRV rabbit hole for the umpteenth time about a year and a half ago and after six months took a chance on the Dualgun. I figured if it didn’t work at least it wasn’t expensive…. But it worked for me. So I hoped it would work for others.

No apology necessary, being a Chinese clone it wasn’t very expensive anyway so I didn’t have much to lose. Clearly many others have benefited from your demo so maybe it’s just me … there’s an awful lot of toggles and switches and knobs on that thing. My PB is crowded and I have a JHS Milkman coming so the Dualgun will get rotated out for a while, maybe to return in the future.

Hehe you just need a DemonFX SSS to round things out (ask me how i know) :)

In other news, the JHS Milkman was the first pedal i bought in about 30 years, back at the begining of COVID, when in boredom i decided to build my 1st pedal board, you should not be dissapointed. People who saw me post about buying one were like "its just a slapback/slapback+ pedal, any delay pedal could do that"...but they clearly never tried/owned one, because its The Best slapback delay pedal, and has a handy boost too.

I had that AND an RE-20 Space Echo on the board....could the RE-20 do slapback...quite clearly yes, but thats not what i used it for, i used the Milkman for Slapback, and the RE-20 for all the other delays....i was always going to have more than one delay pedal on my board...

Okay, actually technically 3, if'n you count the Yahama MagicStomp (with Shadows patches) :)

I had the delay sickness :)

Lets just hope Josh doesnt do an episode on DemonFX pedals :)

People are mad at him again because he mentioned yet another pedal (Bad Monkey) no one cared about for nearly 2 decades and now find the price is 3 x, isnt it funny what FOMO does to idiot guitar players...

Had to look up FOMO.. LOL

Now I need a nap.

I laugh my ass off that so many people think Josh is some sort of puppetmaster, all he's doing is offering an opinion and watching the dregs of the guitar community lose their **** while he sits back and wanders whats wrong with them.... like the rest of us.....

I wonder how long it will take for the penny to drop for these mental midgets that theyre part of the problem, and that Josh is just shining a light on the problem, and ultimately...them?

I mean how is it not obvious by now, after about the 4th time he's mentioned a pedal, and its increased, that his message is that theres zero reason to spend a fortune on a pedal, and yet theres people upset because they now cant buy an expensive pedal...that they never cared about before Josh mentioned it....mind boggling how insane these people are....

I weep for humanity. People just getting stupider by the day

I look forward to working for our new AI overlords, because humans are not even in the intelligence race any more.....

In a way, you can't really blame folks for their curiosity and openness to it all. After all, for decades guys were using pedals to push huge amps to get the sounds we've all come to associate with great tone. Now though, people are trying to recreate those same sounds with much smaller amps and often at bedroom volumes. That and the explosion of pedal builders in the last decade has made it even more of a rabbit hole. So I get it, lord knows I have a hundred pedals around here that I've fiddled with working on sounds. After all every new pedal is an investment/guess until you've had a chance to use it for a bit.

Runs on the market for a specific thing is just a byproduct of all that. I have a bad monkey in a box here somewhere, didn't bond with it. It was ok, but just missing something for me.

Edit: Pedals are fun. :)

I just stumbled upon a 100% Duellist counterfeit with the logo and all, while browsing. Looks like someone saw the opportunity to make a fast buck. I wonder how it looks on the inside!? Probably the same as Dualgun. Poor Jesse, is all I can say. He seems like a really nice guy.
