It did look good on that day tho

Is that a wedding picture?

The only change I'd make to the Silver Sky is I'd reverse the headstock so the longer point is on top. Seems like it would compliment the longer horn being on top of the body better.

I don't care for the look of a left handed Strat neck on a right handed Strat body for the same reason.

Yes! My better half actually bought me that guitar so that I would play her something on wedding day. ♥️♥️

Here’s the reason behind reversing the headstock, look how the shape matches a Strat neck so that when you play near the head you actually feel the same

Good point. I'll bet PRS tried reversing the headstock and discovered the same thing.

Ibanez also makes a great S Type and boasts SS frets, as does Schechter with their Nick Johnston series , Sire Guitars, there are many great guitars out there to choose from and they usually boast many upgrades like locking tuners, SS Frets, better tremolo systems, Roasted Compound radius Ebony boards, rolled edged fingerboards, Graphtech nuts ..etc etc
I don't buy on Headstock logo nor where it happens to be made
I buy on Spec's and features I'm looking for within my budget

I don't hate PRS guitars, I think some of their copies and designs look great, but I don't care for the looks of the Silver Sky. I almost traded for one of their single cut Les Paul copies, but it just wasn't better than my Gibsons, though it was very nice. It's all subjective. We all have reasons for playing what we do. I have guitars that play and sound great, so I don't need one with looks I don't care for, but for those who like them, enjoy! And having both Fenders and Gibsons, I prefer the tuners lined up in a row. To each their own.

I personally don’t care how good they play, they’re just plain ugly, in my opinion. For some reason they remind me of an 80s Ibanez. That being said, more power to you if you do like them, my opinion means nothing.
See that’s how I am with 3TSB, Oly White and natural finish Strats, the looks put me off so much I will not even play one to try it. Did the same thing with the Silver Sky for 18 months. Then I played one. Bought it the next day and sold my two EJ Strats within a month. Would still have the Silver Sky if my Custom Shop 60 Strat and 52 Tele weren’t so much better, but at more than double the Silver Sky cost.

JM has an interview where he discusses it. With his big hands he kept hitting the bottom wing of the normal PRS headstock when playing F or first fret on e and b strings. So he and Paul realized they could tweak it to be like the curve on a Strat.

The Silver Sky SE is on sale right now for $780 from quite a few dealers on Reverb. See if a local dealer will match that price. They are very consistant in quality but see if you can find a local dealer with 2 or 3 or more in stock. Spend time with them all listening to each both unplugged and plugged in. Pick the one that feels best to you.

The Silver Sky core model is also on sale. But it's 3X as much as the SE and not 3X better.
I found the core to be way better than the SE. of course I feel this way about all PRS models. Owned three SE models over the years and kept each less than a week. I do not like the S pickups he uses in imports. My Custom 22 core and Silver Sky we’re both great guitars.

I agree up to a point. I've replaced the import pickups in all of my SE Singlecuts with Seymour Duncans. I haven't replaced the pickups in my SE Silver Sky guitars and I'm satisfied with them for now. But I do think the pickups in the Core model Silver Sky sound more like a vintage Strat pickup. I rework all of my guitars until they play like a custom shop guitar, regardless of how they started out.

Im not a Silver Sky fan but PRS are excellent guitars and their import models the SE, short the exotic woods, are built just as well. PRS guitars are extremely consistent from one model to the other. I own an S2 Custom 22 Semihollow and it is the guitar I most often gig with when I play Jazz or Fusion but I have brought it to metal rehearsal too and it more than holds its own (i just prefer to play black guitars with EMG 81’s for metal)

Have to concur on the S pickups though they are not my favorite I replaced mine with Fishman Fluence Modern.
