I have never brought a guitar on a trip but I suppose it would be ok as long as I played it when my wife was sleeping or busy doing something on her own. I wouldn't bring an amp of course but maybe some form of powered headphone thingy's if you like. Moist of our trips involved flying and I don't need the grief of baggage handlers.

I’ll tell you what, I’d sell one of my guitars take the cash, get there and go shopping one day with her and bring back an irreplaceable guitar.

If you got the money to just buy an other one that’s even better i guess.

Sounds like you're a lucky man.

If I had a time machine a guitar would be the only thing with me on my "Honeymoon". No Honey, just guitar.

My current GF fully understands guitars are a part of me.

We are comfortable together, and she has stuff she does while I play. You know, sitting around in the evening chilling....

I have the perfect guitar for tagging along. Mine's a Seagull SA-6 but it's exactly the same as the more well known Godin A-6. Travels, feels & plays like an electric, sounds like an acoustic. Will survive various temperatures/humidity no problem. It's not quite as loud unplugged as a full blown acoustic (which is what you want if you're just noodling while chatting or not trying to be overbearing in the room) but can keep with another acoustic should you have the chance to play with anyone else.

If u do, you'd be better off composing and playing a love song for her.

No. But I took a strat with me when my wife and I visited our oldest son at college. Turns out Keith urban had a show there that night. Two girls at the hotel saw me carrying a guitar case in and were convinced I was him

Maybe OP's fiancé likes hearing him play. Guitar music can, after all, be very romantic. It's pretty funny (sad?) we all seem to assume him playing guitar means excluding her. I'm pretty sure my sister's fiancé will take a guitar or mando on their honeymoon. She enjoys his playing (as do I - he's good!).

I lived in Eugene for about 6 months in 2010, and the only music store I visited there was Guitar Center.. I actually went there to pick up an add-on for my synthesizer I ordered through their web site. When I was living in Eugene in 2010, it was one of my periods when I wasn't playing guitar very much.

Guitar on honeymoon? No for the same reason you don't bring a sewing machine to a bachelor party.

I did not bring a guitar to my honeymoon...that's just me. If it's you...than cool for you :).

The only time I brought a guitar on a trip was when I was ramping up for my duo playing out. I brought my daughter's 3/4 acoustic to practice. I may have used it once or twice...it didn't quite work out as planned.

I do miss playing after a trip...so I usually have a pretty extended playing session when I get back home.
