wanted to add a separate library for my wife.
hit shift, and my itunes icon.
typed in an account email address for her.
now I have a new empty itunes, waiting for her stuff, but can't find my library.
I have lost hundreds of uploaded CDs that I no longer own
How do I retrieve my library?
I am old and not up on computer jargon so HELP please
I am running windows 8.1, and my itunes was not the most current update(s)

Are you logged into itunes as HER new account/email or with your Apple ID?

I doubt your music is gone but this seems like a good time to bring up back ups, at least buy an external disk and store your music there too.

Log into your account, go to "accounts" at the top then sign in with your account.
Also you can put all the music in iTunes then share share the library, so that other people in the house can stream it to their computers, phones, whatever, no need for 2 accounts.

If she only wants to listen to certain things make her a playlist, highlight and drag all her music into that playlist.

when I sign in to account, I can go to the store and see my info etc, but my library, downloads, playlists etc are still blank.
As well I wanted to keep it 2 totally separate accounts, but that doesn't matter right now

    User/you/music/iTunes/iTunes music (or iTunes media/music)
Hopefully your music is there and iTunes doesn’t know it

As this is an Apple product, I believe you can call them for support, even if you’re on a Windows machine. My 2¢

I don’t know how it works on PCs but it won’t be lost. On a Mac all the files are stored in a folder and it’s just a case of dragging them back into iTunes again.
