I read that Jimi gave Billy a pink Strat, that it was stolen from Billy, and that he saw it on stage after that. He approached the guitarist, asked how much he paid for it, gave him the cash, and took back his guitar. I always thought that assuming the story is true, it was generous of Billy to pay the guy to get his guitar back.

And you sir are entitled to your opinion. And I respect it. But you do have me curious...I have not been here very long but did notice your posts. My 80's thread the other day, you stated you could leave it. Which again....I totally respect your opinion...so what do you like? Is there a particular genre or decade of music that you think is superior? I am guessing that you like 60's music. I may be wrong, but i may be right.

I don't use the phrase "superior" nor do I even remotely think like that.

Also didn't state I could leave it, all I said was "eh".

I like a lot of music across many genres and to me the 80's musically in general were simply eh.

I have seen and heard so many contradictory things from famous musicians that I've decided that most of them are pathological liars.

There's a ZZ Top interview where one of the answers is: "We could give you three different answers - and none of them would be true".

That documentary also had a thing or two about building and maintaining a mystique around the band.

Interesting as there is a lot of stories about who Jimi Hendrix said who was his favourite including Rory Galagher.
IIRC there was a thread quite some time ago on this and a video was posted examining who the actual comment was about.
That being said this is the first rime I have seen the Billy Gibbons video and he is awesome so it also makes sense that he’s The one. As a huge Jimi Hendrix anyone shed more light in this mystery?

A quick search on the net turned this up..
