I had to replace a cracked tuner bushing yesterday, but could only find nylon spacers of the correct internal and external diameters in 1” lengths. I was able to create a makeshift lathe out of a hand drill and fashioned a perfect replacement by spinning it up and trimming to the desired thickness with an X-Acto knife. The drill bit provides internal support and prevents the bushing from wandering off when it separates from the stock.

For future reference, All Parts sells them in packs of 12. Or Google "nylon guitar tuner washer". I think you can even find the metal "wave" washers, as well.

Where did you find the spacers, and what are the measurements?

The fasteners section at my local hardware store had several bins of nylon spacers. I don’t know the exact dimensions, but they are designed to fit a #6 screw. I had to widen the hole *very* slightly by hand with the next standard size drill bit.

I figured they were available online – I just wanted it fixed within the hour. :D

For 30 cents, I probably have enough to fix a few full sets of tuners.
