I told my self I can't play Strats, small hands, and will have to commit to 24" scale length guitars but I played a strat the other day and I guess my hands grew but it wasn't that bad.....so I ordered a Player Strat from musicians friend, last month I order a Jag but it came with a broken head stock, sent it back of course, so I got the Strat today, plugged it in and got very little volume out of it, amp on 10, guitar vol on 7, it sounded as loud as when I put my friends player strat on 4 and amp on 4 and tone controls barely work.....now this has to go back, from Hawaii to wherever to hell musician friend is on the mainland. Is this bad Karma?

I don't know about Karma, you might have come back as a banana slug or something, but a bad Strat? Seriously bad luck. Not the same.

    A: No.

How long have you been at it? Guitar playing, that is.

Just a run of bad luck; have them send you another one. For what it's worth Musician's Friend's warehouse (shared with Guitar Center) is in the Kansas City area on the northeastern side of the metro in Missouri.

And I get the small hands thing, but I used to work to play 25 1/2" scale guitars. But for me my hands were never all that flexible and age has been taking it's toll over the past 10 years as my hand can get stiff and stretches are becoming even more limited for me. I have a Mustang (24" scale) but I can still comfortably play anything up to 25" scale. I've also found that I can get more comfortable on something with body shape that moves the neck in toward the body - like EVH Wolfgang and EBMM Axis series models. The ergonomics of how Ed wanted them to sit on you work pretty well for me.

Well, it is going to go back to Kansas City. I hope that your replacement arrives in better condition.

Like Luck, there is no such thing as karma...I make sure to buy a hardshell case for any guitar I have ordered or purchased online.

Sometimes things happen in waves. Of all the times I have shopped on ebay I have almost never had any issue whatsoever....even something supposedly lost turned up a few months later despite the postage label almost completely faded away.
But then in the space of 1 week one item had fallen out of the bag, and the second arrived damaged and with an incorrect description. So two refund scenarios right after each other.

There’s gonna be a third, these things always come in threes. Order something cheap that doesn’t matter, before you order your next CS Strat, and get it out of the way!

Go used if you can find a cherry Player that's mint. Some guys buy Strats and never go anywhere with it. Be sure and take the time to set it up for the way you play, there's tons of info here on how to do this.

I agree... both are nonexistent. Hardshell cases are good too.

Check all pickups: all the same issue? Then roll the volume pots up and down? Maybe a bad pot or just some dirt on the carbon track. A squirt of Deoxit might help.
