Based on the Mod Shop page, the case is included. You may want to check with your dealer for an adjustment.

Yep... "Fender Strats" covers everything from a $150 Squier to a $50,000 Custom Shop.
Nothing under $1000 comes with a hard case, nothing under $750 comes with a gig bag.
But even in the $1000 to $1300 range, it's hit and miss, with only a couple of models coming with a case.
AFAIK, the American Performer is the only US model that only comes with a bag.

I don’t know much about the Vmods. My take is for $800 to$900 , you can still get a great strat and a case!

Agreed. The Vmods only come on the Professional which replaced the Standards.

Just the Vintera and most of the Artist models. The Tom Morello comes with a case, but that's the only MiM I could find with a hard case.

Interesting, as that is the '67 to '72 case/amp logo.
But no telling case may have been older stock and wasn't the one shipped from Fender to your store... or maybe someone in Fullerton found an old tail logo in the parts bin.
There really was no "care" going on in the CBS era... it really was a perfect example of simply running a production line, witness the transition-year of '76 when the early months had all white plastics like '75, the bulk of the year was black PG with white pickups and knobs, and the latter months that were all black like '77
But every now and then, you see a black/white '77

I think it was likely NOS when I got it, as I didn't buy it with a Fender and got it from a large retailer in NY, but then, any or all of the rest might apply so who knows? Either way, if that's a fair price for the other in that condition then this one is probably worth more than I paid for the strat that occupies it now.

I don't have a dealer, you order them straight from Fender. However you are correct, I thought they charged me for that case, it does come with an ABS molded case. Thanks for correcting me.:D

Right! Even the salesman knew he messed up, but he said it came with one so. I was expecting the cheapest case possible when he went to get one, then came out with this LoL

American standards were 750 in the mid 90s.
Carvin's bolt was available for 550ish.

I have 4 cases and a gig bag for 10 guitars.

I bought two when I "built" my warmoths. The other 2 were purchased before I came to the conclusion that cases take up alot of room, especially if you keep your guitars on a rack.

Yamaha's gig bags are pretty nice too!

I got a HSC on eBay for $55.00. Nothing great, but it's ok. I no longer gig, just occasional jams and at home. The brand is Clarry. Free shipping and I got it in two days.

In the '50s and '60s all those Gibson bursts and SGs (not sure about the hollow bodies) didn't automatically include a case. That was an additional charge. They had different tiers, the cheapest one you could buy was a cheap cardboard case with fake alligator skin texture, probably their equivalent to a modern gig bag but worse (I had one, it offered very little protection except from dust). But later cases became standard with pretty much all USA made guitars from Fender and Gibson until recently so it's not off the wall to expect it. Yet there is precedent in the past for not having them provided as a matter of course.

Mod Shop Strat, during Caronavirus, came a week early and with a nice case. The guitar looks and sounds fantastic.

No. If it came with a case you would have dished out 850 or 900. But instead you get to buy whatever type of case you prefer or even not waste any more money if you don't need one! Isn't it nice to be in control?
