Do you notice better tone when you plug straight in with no pedals? Any fix?

    I had a brief flirtation with pedals a few months ago but old habits die hard and I've not used pedals for about 50 years :eek:
    They're all sold now. Just too complicated for my simple old brain to dance around them on stage. I'll use on-board reverb and gain of course, but no external gubbins for me.
    Sound-wise, I've not noticed any degradation through effects loops but I do suspect there is a certain flattening of sound when plugged into the amp input.
