Fender has been very quiet . Will they answer the silver sky se craze? Supposedly the se is back ordered to mid May. I’d love to see a player plus with some interesting colors and pickups . Daphne blue, sonic grey available in maple or ferro necks.

I'd think the Player Plus was the pre-emptive answer. I don't really think Fender is going to go belly up because of the newest shiny PRS guitar, they're not too worried.

I’d look for Fender’s ad copy to be emphasizing Fender was the “authentic” source.

Bigsby might quibble about the headstock but hey, lute headstocks look like Viking ship bows, so there’s gonna always be heat about something.

My guess is they don’t care a heck of a lot.

Please forgive me... What is the question...?
The Silver Sky SE is a great sounding guitar, no doubt. I would go so far as to say I would like to own one! The videos I watched by Anderson's certainly confirm it sounds fantastic! Lee said that the supply of SS SE Model was limited and would cancel orders of buyers for multiple units
It serves the market to have many options to choose from. It remains to be seen if they are going to take market share away from Fender.

    IT'S NOT A STRAT!

    It's a Fender-copy body married to a PRS neck!

    No, thank you.... :thumbd:

How do you answer to people copying you? The Silver Try is no threat to anything. Fenders answer is to keep on doing Fender.

Man I have to say, Fender really botched the colors of the new player plus series. That said, PRS did the same with the Silver Sky SE colors. If the player plus series was a preemptive answer, they should give it another shot. I mean the rolled edge fretboard was a nice touch, comfortable to hold. The colors just arent jivin with me

Fender is also backed up on the production line. They just had a stellar couple of year in sales.

The PRS colours on this model seems muddy and dull. I find them dull anyways.

Fender are running out of guitars, and struggling to meet demand (according to the boss), but they will still sell a lot more than PRS this year.

Fender does not care at all about the JM SS SE, they have their Loyal base customers

PRS is a nice guitar. However in a previous post I got my teeth kicked in about a Charvel made in the same factory with Fender everything all over it. I'll say they are beautiful but not my taste. The original doesn't have to answer to the imitation. Especially at these price points.

I guess that was their answer to Ibanez? Not that Ibanez were really trying to challenge anybody. Certainly not with the colours they had.

The Silver Sky SE is the PRS answer to the Player series. An entirely logical move on PRS part. The quality they're getting out of the Indonesia factory is superb, I think they'll give Fender a run for their money.

Fender doesn't answer Strat knock-offs, the Strat knocker-offers are trying to answer Fender.

Yes the colors leave a lot to be desired.
