Does wireless sound as good as a cable?

I was thinking of getting an inexpensive ($25 to $30-ish) wireless system for playing at home just to have less cable clutter. Has anyone found them to sound worse than a cable?

Also, any downside to them besides having to recharge them?

i dont know but you get what you pay for.
i use a mid grade wireless, the line 6 relay g10s, and i cant tell the difference in the sound between it and a real cable. they are roughly $250 brand new, give or take.
i dont think ive ever tried a $30 wireless.

Well, one advantage to wireless is that there's bound to be less chance of tone-suck due to cable capacitance, especially if you're using longer cables and a lot of effects...

some people must like "tone suck" because my wireless has a switch to simulate using a cable. i cant tell much of a difference when activating it though so its useless to me.

My experience with wireless is very outdated so it may not be applicable.

I found that the way the guitar reacted with the amplifier was different. Whether the difference was good or bad would depend on your goal.

I found when I wanted a little feedback from the speaker blasting into the pickups it was a little harder coax then before.

If you never want feedback then it would've been a good thing.

I got the Lekato WS-80 set for Christmas, and if there's any issue with sound difference, its so extremely minor that it can't be detected by ear.

    i can see that happening.
i never used a wireless in a rock or metal band....i only used one in the last band i was in which was red dirt/country, and i didnt do the feedback thing like i did in other bands.

I have an older $400 audio technica system I used forever and a relatively new $40 Joyo system. I can't tell the difference with either of them compared to a cord. I actually prefer the Joyo because I don't have to plug a receiver base into ac. I've actually played several church gigs at very large church with the little $40 wireless. The downsides to the cheap one are 1) it looks kind of dumb; 2) I worry about the durability. While I gig with it, I keep a cord on the floor by my volume pedal just in case I need to quickly ditch the wireless and plug in. It's not a matter of if it will break, but a question of "when" it will break. For home use, it is awesome.

I have two sets of the XVive U2 (liked the first one so much, got a second for my other practice space). I cannot hear a delta between them and a cable. Being a bit of a pacer, the added safety factor of no cable underfoot is a big plus for me. MF runs them on their SDoD from time to time.

Unless straying outside of the range I honestly can't tell the difference.

If your wireless system uses 2.4ghz (wifi frequency) you probably wouldn't be able to hear any difference.
Even the cheap ones. The A/D converters (even bottom tier converters) should have no problem with a guitar signal.

Older systems which use uhf and employ a compander..... yeah, I can hear and feel that easily.

These days, your extra money will buy you more durability, range, and hopefully some longevity. It won't sound any better though.

I just ran across the Joyo system on Amazon. Looks to me to be the same as the XVives I have at 1/3 the entry fee.

I have a wireless I bought off Amazon for about 50 bucks. It works great they say you get about 4 hrs of continuous use with no problem. I can not tell the difference between using the wireless or a cable as far as sound goes. There is no transmitting delay at all. I just like the convenience of no cable in the way. I use them...even chain them and other than the very occasional small noticeable latency, they're perfectly fine for home use. Good range, don't interfere with one another if you're using more than one set.

Note: I use the Gitaria's from Amazon.

well i guess thats the reason i cant tell a difference, lol.
the technology has come pretty far with these things. even the cheaper ones are gtg.
i cant see myself spending $500 or $1000 on a wireless unless i was touring all the time.
