It wouldn't be my first choice, but I've always wanted Michael Buble' to record a rock album, with somebody like Alex Lifeson on guitars. Add Stewart Copeland on drums and see what might happen!

Clapton, Bonamassa, Steve Perry best vocalist ever, Paul McCartney, Neil Schon, Brian May Foo, Gilmour, Jeff Beck, so wish EVH, Satch, Zep, on and on. I was so blessed to be a part of the 70's classic rock era. There will never be anything like it. I was in college and every freakin day almost, certainly every week, all these new bands were hittin the charts. I was goin broke buyin vinyl constantly and lovin it. Kids, eat it up. Best timeless music ever.

Such an under-rated drummer. There's a reason he played for both Clapton and Robert Plant while STILL at the peak of his career fronting Genesis.

Made this exact thread YEARS ago (https://www.strat-talk.com/threads/the-ultimate-band.289559/) but happy this came up again to see how much my tastes have changed.

Keys and vocals: Stevie Wonder with Donny Hathaway on second keys/vocals or option 2 would be Ray Charles and Donny for that bluesy/soul band vibe with the ability to go into funk
First Guitar: Eric Gales (love his chord voicings and his versatility)
    Second Guitar: Derek Trucks
    Bass: James Jamerson
    Drums: Steve Jordan
Throw in the Memphis horns for vibes

EDIT: I'm switching out Gales for Jimmy Herring because his chemistry with Trucks is just ridiculous.

Also realized it says living players oops

Just take Brian Setzer out of his big band and plug me in.
I don't know if he has keys, but I'd need to be sure there's a piano and a B3 in there.
    And backup singers.
