I went to play my DRRI today and wasnt able to get any sound from the amp! I tried all inputs on both the normal and vibrato channels...no sound. So I plugged into another amp to make sure my chord etc was ok and got sound from the other amp. The power light on the DRRI was on and the power and rectifier tubes were glowing a little so I figured it wasn't the fuse. I tried cycling the power a couple of times and still no sound so I decided to play through another amp for my practice session. When I was done practicing I turned back to the DRRI. I powered it up again and got no sound. I powered down and on a whim decided to try wiggling and pushing the tubes up into their sockets. Powered back up and I was back in business.

Unusual experience....or forget about it and rock on but remember to reseat the tubes next time I get no sound?

When the TV quit working, the first thing we did was reseat all the tubes. If that didn't work I had to walk down to 7/11 and run them all through the tube tester, buy the new tube, walk back home and plug them in.
So no, tubes getting loose in their sockets in a piece of equipment that gets moved around isn't all that odd.

Thats why I put fender tube retainer clips on my Deluxe Reverb. The more you spent on a Fender amp the more features you got. The DR wasn’t one of Fender’s high end amp. The Tube shields should be on the pre amp tubes also, I see a lot of amps with these removed. Theres a lot of vibration going on inside a combo amp so every little bit you do helps.

Mine has shields on all of the preamp tubes. None on the power or rectifier tubes. I gave all the tubes a shove so not sure which one worked it's way loose.

Every few months clean the tube sockets with some contact cleaner (spray) and reseat the tubes.
Pretty easy job, some maintenance and your amp is always ready to rock.
    Check you don´t get burned.
Toast is tasty but you need your hands.

    All the best,
    Robin

Your rectifier tube sounds like it needs it socket retensioned and it's hold down clip set right so that it's very tight.

Not uncommon for the gigging musician.
Tube sockets and reverb tanks are often not well served by riding in cars/vans.
