Kinda wanting a compressor. Just for some subtle compression and a little more sustain on cleans. I also like the idea of a blend knob.

Looking at these two or maybe a Dyna Comp

Anyone have any experience with these ?

TC Hypergravity - I like the TC toneprint stuff and it has a blend knob

EHX Tone Corset - good reviews for the price and has a blend knob

    Thanks for your input.

I’ve found the Keeley 4 knob to be extremely versatile and simple to use.

Best most transparent compressor pedal I've used is the Barber Tone Press.

I used an old block logo MXR Dynacomp for years.. Until I started playing tweed amps. ;)

Both Jimmy and I are using the Barber here.

Really Nice. I really loved the vibrato bar use there. A good tweed amp is on my bucket list. When we get caught up on finances I'd like to get a kit and take a stab at a build.

    Thanks for the Replies.

I was looking at the Keeley Plus too. I wonder how similar it is to the Tone Corsett. They seem to have the same controls right down to the toggle switch and its been said they do clones.

I was playing around with the compressor settings in my Katana and got it doing exactly what I'm wanting. This was with the DynaComp model. I just hate diddling with FX inside a software gui. Prefer the pedals in front of me. But at least that gave me an idea of what to look for.

Hoping to have a DC to play with over the weekend. Guy that's loaning it to me is a bass player and has tons of pedals he doesn't use but hangs on to so if he has something i want to check out, he's very generous and lets me hang on to them as long as I want.

Nothing beats the Barber Tone Press IMO. And a blend knob is critical on a compressor again IMO.

I haven't played the tone corset so I don't have a comparison, but I have the keeley aria which has the keeley plus on one side (overdrive on the other) and when I first had it I thought it was magical and an improvement over the boss cs-3 I had, which I liked anyway, but then I got tired of playing with a compressor altogether so I don't use it much, but it was real good.

I have a couple EHX Platforms. They're an optical comp on one side and OD on the other. The comp side is great, I wish they sold it as a stand alone

I love my Fairfield Circuitry Accountant. Its teeny tiny and does its job without a slew of "tone sculpting" options. Can't go wrong with a Dyna Comp...there's a reason they still sell well an entire generation after its release.

The TC Hypergravity does exactly what you're looking for. Everything from the traditional 'squishy' compression stuff right through to the subtle hardly notice it's there sustain stuff.

I think for a subtle effect the blend control is a must. The best quality of the TC pedal for me is the way it makes the guitar feel when you're playing. It's hard to describe but it just makes playing clean or with slight drive really satisfying. I use it as an always on pedal with my tube amp when playing at home levels to help bring in some of the compression the amp has when it's more cranked.
