That's great! Glad you found it helpful. I find it can be useful to follow the circle of fifths in moving on to new keys. Moving from C to G just changes one note (F to F#) so it helps instill the relationships between keys and makes it easier to learn a new key (just one new note!). After practicing in G, move on to D and, again, just one different note.Good morning Andmyaxe. It's been a while but I would like to tell you that I appreciate your recommendation to practice to backing tracks. I have been doing this in a more structured way each day using a range of different tracks but mostly in that C major and A minor territory. I also love playing with jazz blues tracks for a bit of light relief. Moving to D minor and G minor exposed weakness in the parts of scale patterns I don't use often.
I thought I was getting into a bit of a rut so I shifted to B - just a tiny step but suddenly all the fret board dots are in the wrong place. This reality shift was enough to get me playing different note patterns.
Just look what you started!Thanks.
Cool!Looks like I found where I'll be spending my time for the next *insert amount here* days/weeks![]()

YES!!!
Learn the melody, and even learn the words to the song if there are any.
It all goes to a deeper understanding.

Good Idea*bump*
i agree... maybe it will happen eventually if enough people request that. This one should be a "Sticky" on the
Tab & Music Forum.
Ask and ye shall receive!@Lonn , @Mansonienne , @jayoldschool , @Alex , is there a procedure to follow to get a thread turned into a sticky?

I'm not beyond nuthin'. That's for posting.Never seen this one before… very cool! Nope I haven’t read the whole thing either. So if someone has suggested this book already well mentioning it again won’t hurt.
I have found this book very useful for explaining theory to people that just don’t get it…
The chord wheel can be turned to any key and shows you in black and white aaah color even what is what. On the inside things get explained in rather simple terms even I can understand. I just fine it good for helping my less aaahh educated friends understand what I’m doing and what I want them to do. Some one always wants to know “Why?” they have to play this or that. “Why?” this sounds good and that doesn’t. The chord wheel helps me show them “Why?”. If I think they really want to play I give them a copy of this book.
If you guys are beyond this just ignore this thread…
There's also this version that AxemanVR linked earlier in the thread:Never seen this one before… very cool! Nope I haven’t read the whole thing either. So if someone has suggested this book already well mentioning it again won’t hurt.
