[IMG] I believe everyone should have an emotional support strat. Just joined this forum and wanted to see what y’all’s special no.1 is. This is Abigale. I came into some money and paid 5400 for the Les Paul custom shop of my dreams I ordered off line... didn’t like it. Returned it and was introduced to Abigale. Haven’t put her down since. Swapped the gen 4 noiseless out for some TexMex pups and if she didn’t scream before she definitely does now. After I picked her up I learned she’s actually a pretty rare guitar. American Elite Blackburst HSS with a shawbucker. Anyone ever have any experience with one of these bad Larry’s?

Yea they were kinda angry. I used it for a night a brought it back lol. But yea something about this strat man. I’ve had les Paul’s and other custom guitars that I really liked but nothings got me head over heals then my girl Abigale here
This is a recording we did a few months back... I was using the shawbucker there on the bridge. Fenders got this thing called an S-1 switch that puts the thing out of phase. It sounded pretty good through a little orange solid state in a drunk basement. Lol

That is one gorgeous guitar! Right now I have two go to strats. One is my Contemporary HH active and the other is my 94 Black label Squire Series with modular pickguards that I can swap in less than 5 minutes for a different sound.

Something about stats I think the way they’re mass produced. You get that special snowflake. The unicorn... dare I say the great white buffalo. Necks thin but not too thin. Contours from a C to D profile. 9.5 to 12 compound radius. And she reasonates acoustically very nicely

It really is a cool setup. Atheris Innovations did a great job designing it and their QC is second to none in my opinion. The way it's set up you could put the S1 switch in it and still swap out in about 5 minutes since the pg comes off in 2 pieces allowing for more room to wiggle in and out under the strings and its all plug and play. No soldering whatsoever.

Good question man. Honestly it was an amazing guitar but (and I have this problem with every les Paul custom shop I pick up) I just couldn’t fall in love with it. It didn’t resonate acoustically like most of us guitar player covet in our most prized guitars. Could have been the feel of the richlite fretboard (what they used in place of ebony on the 2017 model) but I didn’t seem to mind that so much on my les Paul supreme that had richlite. The radius and frets were really flat too. In short it was just the feel of the guitar. Otherwise thing sounded and looked great

Richlite on a Custom Shop!!! I had no idea they were doing that. That would be a non-starter for me. Gibson is WAY out of touch with it's market imo. You made a great (and no brainer) choice imo.
