Usually the jam session is a single day. In that case a studio or equipment would only be needed for a single day.

But from what I gather, we could all share a (beach) house, and have the jam session on site, which would be different, but also extremely cool.

Does it have to be that weekend? It coincides with both my son and my mother's birthdays :(

I imagine 3200 Euro is a bit on the high side for some people Omar.
I will stay for a week minimum and there are some good prices for apartments and hotels....

Yes. It would be sensible to try to finalise the date so arrangements can be made.
Some will find 6th difficult I believe?
I'm free almost any time and am happy to share, although after beer I do snore and fart! :D

Let's get this thing going! :D

What about @Groovey ? is he planning to come to this one? In which case, we need to see when he is available.

The w/e of the 13th and 20th should work for me. November is out, as is early December.

Not sure about Dave. I know he wants to come but has some serious spending to do too.

I think Nutjob is unavailable on 6th but may be OK for 13th/20th

It depends on how many persons are going to attend and their stay duration. I have access to many properties here. If you prefer hotels, I can recommend some in Puerto Banus or San Pedro.

    https://www.benabola.com/ (Puerto Banus)
    https://www.hotelpyr.com/ (Puerto Banus)
http://palomablancahotel.com/ (San Pedro Alcantara - I might be able to get a special discount)

    Yeah, let's do it :D

OK. Shall we start an "Attendees and Date" thread and keep this one for working out the details, or just carry on with this thread?

I’d suggest that we start a new thread and re-tag euro gang members :D
Congratulations in advance Dave. I hope we meet soon anywhere :)

Before I start a new thread, I would like to proposed an idea. There is a bar that hosts jam sessions on weekly basis. They have a PA system and I guess some amps, not sure though. I can arrange for the drums and other stuff.

    http://www.lacatarina.beer/

I will call the owner to find out whether we can jam there during the day, and also do a special jam session in the evening with others.

Could you please let me know how many hours do you usually jam in such events? Preferred time of holding the event? Do you like the idea of a special jam session on Saturday 8pm-12am. How many amps, microphones, etc do we need?

    Many thanks!

I personally don't think jamming in a bar is a good idea; it would become more of a "rehearsal", which detracts from the chilled atmosphere. I guess if some people want to do a gig in the evening it's fine, but I prefer to gig with a band and a fixed set, or jam with unknowns in a non-public setting.

    Just my 0.5p...

I would not be too keen on a public jam. I’m not comfortable jamming in the usual sense of the word, except with friends. I probably would not participate.

As above Omar. Jamming in a bar is not as comfortable as on our own if there will be an audience.
If the bar is closed and we have exclusive access during the day then I am all for it. I'm also OK with doing a free evening gig for the bar owner because we can rehearse the numbers as part of the jam but I doubt we can do a full set of 30+ songs, unless we choose real easy stuff and chance to luck for the evening! I'm in if so!

Jamming on the last meet ups has been from around 10:00 or 11:00 until 16:00 or 17:00 if I remember. Microphones; I guess 2 would be enough but more is better. We would need a good bass amp and probably 2 or 3 decent guitar amps, preferably at least one good valve amp for me. I'm not sure what others prefer...
I'm not enthusiastic about jamming with others not in our little StratTalk group. We all know each other's strengths and can work with that to produce a pretty good sound. Others outside our group may not be so amenable. However, I will go with the flow and what the majority think. I'm only here for the beer!
