    Is it still available???

That's a robot or scam response. Never have my responses to that question been met w/ a legit. shopper/ person interested in my gear.

I get it all the time on my Marketplace ads, then they NEVER reply again...and I end up telling them off and blocking them.....

AHAA! So you're the one that beat me to that "recording doo-dad" thingy!!!? I should have know that your ego would not let someone else buy something with the name "DAD" in it! :whistling:

On Facebook it's not a scam response. They give you 4 preloaded questions you can ask with just a button push, that's one of them.

It keeps the listing current on their feed. Similar to "watching" an item on eBay. I get them, too. Getting bent out of shape because of it just hurts your chances of selling the item. But, Marketplace is clean and simple. Just sold a pedal to a local guy through it. No fuss.

I will sell it to you today, as a gesture of good will and because it turns out there is not enough real estate on my desk for a Faderport.

Well, now all we have to do is sit back and wait for the flood of "is it still available" replies.

PS: It was a nice gesture of good will tho..... bwaaahahahaaa

It’s not all bad, just set up a meeting with a gentleman to sell the guitar. I don’t like those people who ask tons of questions and seem super interested only to stop replying, or the 50 people asking if they can trade you their guitar (usually a terrible trade, I’ve gotten two requests to trade my Jazzmaster for their first act electrics)

This is an actual message I sent to a seller today:

Mr. H, let me know what you will take for your Mic stands.
I am an actual real person and can meet you at your
    convenience during the week. Regards...

He was pleased that I was an authentic human being.

My favorite buyers are the ones who try to haggle for a lower price but are more than happy to pay full price when you say you’re pretty firm on the price.

Works every time. His other buyer flaked on him twice, the seller messaged me back knocked off a couple of bucks and we did the deal. Friendly and sane is sought after...

I tried to sell my Laney CUB 12R on Facebook marketplace. I got banned because their algorithm decided I was trying sell bear cubs. At least i got a LOL out of it.

    Poor bear cubs.

I need to sell a nice congo stand and bongo stand. Surely that will be permitted. And a TV.

yeah its a pre loaded question.

    kijiji has it too..

they recently rolled them out in an update.

The really funny part is. they screwed up the programming on the kijiji ap. so pretty much if you VIEWED an item, the seller got a "hey is this available" message.

took them about a day to correct it, but man.. that was an annoying day for everyone.

My wife doesn't have The Book of Face. But daughter does and lists crap all the time that my wife wants to sell. No guitars, but every darned thing she has listed has sold. Sucks for me, because I always have to load "whatever just sold" up and take it to nearby Target parking lot to exchange said item for cash. I feel like a drug dealer. But it has worked well for her. I've never tried to look at The Book of Face to buy anything.
