I think when i started playing it was all bout what the guitarist i like played
Even my favorites who played gibsons like strats
I would have to say Rory Gallagher"s followed by Stevie Ray"s.
They showed the love.
Interesting that some of the most beloved and iconic Strats are butchered, bastardized, and cobbled together - just like Leo imagined the could/would be.

And I know I’ll catch some flack for posting this in an “iconic” thread but ah well-
Mayer’s Blk 1
He had the none relic version in short run back then and I have to say that is an insanely aesthetic guitar. I wish he would have sticked to it more...
That’s pretty much my guitar. Mine is a MIM partscaster if that.
And this is why you’ve got the good tastes.
Any clip of you playing it?
This with no close second. Note the avatar : )
Yeah, it was an article about a guy giving SRV a poster to sign, probably the Texas Flood one you're talking about, and he signed it something like "I only play Fenders!" Unsure why he might've wanted to distance himself like that.
This forum is a great resource for learning about how great Tokais were (are). I'm certainly a fan from a distance and would love to play and maybe own one someday.
On Physical Graffiti Jimmy Page did a lot of strating especially on Ten Years Gone. He gave this strat to John Paul Jones as a gift when the album was done and 30 something years later JPJ surprised JP with the same strat. Not sure it jives with the spirit of this thread but what the hell.
man, I've been playing a warmoth tele I built for like a year now. my strats are pissed......but I've done crossed over to the other side.
that's kinda like getting back with an old girlfriend.
I like a mystery too, so either one of these two because no one knows where the hell they are today.
