Took a trip for a week, had no access to guitars. Got home late last night.

Now I'm kicking back with my Strat, feeling happy. I really missed it.

    That's all. :)

Who bailed you out and why did they let you wait a week?

Buy an inexpensive Squier Bullet, disassemble, and pack in suitcase. Play while you're traveling.

I could do something like that, but I rarely travel anymore.

Every time I get separated from my guitar (either by travel or by breaking a finger: twice!), it's a thrill to get back to it. I usually find something new because I'm fresh to the instrument, with unconcious habits loosened enough to make room for new stuff. I do a little more listening rather than falling into rote stuff. I experience the same thing when I get bored with my playing: after a while I shift on to something new after such troughs. One cool thing is that this sort of renewal happens at least as often now that I am older. I'm still progressing, even as my fingers get wonky with arthritis.

I really can't wait to move and get all of my guitars that I left with my dad back. It's going to be GREAT. I haven't seen them in about 6 months. I've just had one with me.
