They did the same thing on another model a few years ago. It was Daphne blue. Seemed nice, but not enough for me to shell out that kind of money.

I think it looks strange, especially from behind. Think I'd prefer that neck on a darker body.

If I had a choice between that and maple, I'd likely take maple. Especially that roasted maple. I really like those.

Oddly enough, I feel like this isn't all that new. I swear it's been available as an option on certain Mod Shop guitars.

Me neither and I can't figure out why, unless it's that Desert Sand color. I love both the AmPro and RW necks, but this just doesn't speak to me at all. Maybe on a Wine Red....

Edit: Went and looked at the Fiesta Red and that doesn't do it for me either. If I was going to drop that kind of coin, I'd just whip out the credit card and pay the extra 4-5 for this @Ronkirn that I've been drooling over....

Wrong colour body for that neck. They did a faded sonic blue with that neck last year and it looked great.

Not in the market for a pricey strat right now but I dig the fiesta red one.

These are a little different than the previous rosewood neck runs - the previous runs had the standard V-mod pickups but this run has AV '65 pickups.

That was the first thing I thought of. If they do a run of these every couple of years, how "limited" are they really?

And of course they cost a couple of hundred bucks more than a regular model.

The whole "limited edition" thing is just a marketing ploy. It's called "creating false demand". They create a false demand by limiting the supply. So it is limited to whatever arbitrary number they decide on. That appeals to certain people who want something unique, but then (IMO) they ruin that appeal by issuing another "limited run" of the same feature every couple of years.

I like the way rosewood necks feel, but I'm not digging on this. Probably the color.

Never played an all rosewood neck. I feel like it would darken the tone overall. Same for an all rosewood body. Am I off on those assumptions?

Not that I’m in the market for a new Strat but I wonder how the stability and feel of various woods used in guitar necks compare.

Mahogany vs Maple vs Rosewood vs Other woods vs Synthetic
