CITES regulations have been loosened for musical instruments. CITES was abused to pester instrument makers who use very little wood when compared to furniture manufacturers to which the whole CITES thing was created in the first place.

I don't dislike it but there are certainly other colours I would prefer. I'm a big fan of these Am Pro RW necks!

Call me shallow, but if I'm paying that kind of coin for a Fender, I'd like the Fender logo to be readily visible on the headstock. I don't know why Fender wouldn't already have figured that out.

This is out for delivery right now. It was a great price on a used GC special run.

I took a chance because GC has a no questions asked return policy.

I’m not sure about the Rosewood neck, never played one and I prefer medium jumbo frets so this may be going back quickly.

With the local music stores closed to trying new stuff, curb side pick up only, the buy and return is the only option for me searching for a strat

Depends on the angle your looking at it from.

    Thank god...maybe I won't end up buying it...lol

EDIT: Upon rereading and looking at the link, I"m think #1219 wasn't the "it" you were referring to...lol....

Oddly...two days after making that comment about Desert Sand I ended up buy a Baja in...Desert Sand. Didn't buy it for the color...and it was considerably less coin.

The smoke comes and goes. It is in the moderate range today, being outside for any length of time is not an option.

As for the new guitar, disappointing. It came without a case, I knew that, but is also came packages horribly. The upper part of the body, arm rest area was in contact with the single layer box and shows compression cracks in the poly.

Secondly, as I suspected, narrow tall frets just don’t work for me.

I already have the return and refund approved. My 8 yr old granddaughter I live with is very disappointed, she thinks it is beautiful.

Well that kinda sux, but if you didn't like the narrow talls then that would be a deal killer anyway. As for RW necks, I have a bunch and like them. Just a diffferent animal than Maple but if I had my druthers all my guitars would have ebony. Stay safe....rainy season can't come soon enough..but then ya got mudslides to worry about. Sux about Big Basin...I spend many happy days there with an acoustic guitar, just "Watchin' the River Flow", so to speak.

I love Big Basin, and it will be just fine other than those wonderful structures. The Redwoods survived as they usually do.

I was thinking that as I hit Post. In fact, as I watched the initial reporting about the "destruction or the Redwood forests", I laughed at the ignorance and anthrocentric hubris. Their timeline is a lot longer than ours....

Ridiculous in the same way people who rant about "destroying the Earth"., what all that is being destroyed is those aspects of it that serve human needs.

I like the look of it! I‘ve never played a full rosewood neck, though. I’d like to try! :thumb:

I love it! I think that desert sand colour and pickguard all work well with it because they've both got earthy undertones.
