    Yeah dots all the way

And while we are in it, why can’t Fender use fibre / clay dots on rosewood instead of this cheap white plastic? It can’t be that expensive can it?

Not for me, don't like the pearloid pick guard or blocks either.

I don't have any specific complaints but it doesn't do anything for me. Has no reference to anything I associate with KWS either.

I first saw/became aware of him when he was touring with his original singer on the first album at a G3 show at Mission Bay in San Diego where he was the opener, followed by Eric Johnson, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. I had 2nd row seats, and as anyone knows it's a whole different show from the first 10 rows.

So here's this basically unknown at the time kid, and he's playing a set and doing a good job of of it and then he does Voodoo Child for the encore, which I thought was ballsy in the extreme...and he nailed it! From where I sat you could tell that for him, it was just the instrument and him, the audience wasn't even there....head down, long hair shielding most of his face..eyes closed. He was clearly someplace else.

His guitar was a really roadworn, (not some phony "relic'd" job), sunburst strat.

If they were going to issue anything as his signature model, they should have used that. I would have bought one in a second.

I’m a Kenny Wayne fan, I just wasn’t a fan of previous signature guitars with the thick necks. I suppose I could get used to the blocks if I saw it everyday but at first it does look kind of foreign. Having played bass for years I love blocks on a jazz fretboard, so I could warm up to it.

if they are doing block inlays, they should do double humbuckers :D

For me, and probably for a lot of other people, the Block inlays are a deal breaker. If they don’t sell though, Fender might put dots on it. The the block guitars will become “rare”. I think abalone or pearl dots would go well with the pickguard and color scheme.

doesn't seem like a guitar I'd buy at half that price. But I'm sure some will love it. Don't know exactly what the GBP translates to, in USD.. But I do know that it's more than $1800 dollars.. and in that case, I'd give it a big hell no.

Edit: yeah, $2,325 plus tax.. absolutely not.

for even $899.. probably still wouldn't.

Big KWS fan here and I've been waiting for his sig model since I heard the rumors about a year ago. I'm disappointed to say the least
    • Block inlays on a Fender - nope
    • Color matching head stock - Nope
    • Poly finish - Nope (I believe that the neck is nitro though)
    • Pearl pick guard - Nope
    • $2k+ - Nope
I rather save up or trim the herd and get a custom shop

yep.. for 2k I feel like I could have an absolutely stunning instrument, or multiple slightly less stunning instruments.

I agree that it prob won't be a big seller. It just doesn't look like something a blues player would play, let alone KWS

I wont say block inlays do not belong on ANY Fender, but certainly not on a Tele or strat.

I guess you could say that the inlays are the only thing that separates this guitar from a 300 dollar squier, as far as looks go.

Even though that website doesn't show the headstock, The guitar doesn't visually impress, IMO
