That is what I am thinking.

At least that is what all the signs point to when you put all the info/changes into perspective.

Wanted to start this thread for myself. So many things that interest me!
First of all, if Fender asked me about a guitar I want to make, that will be commercial, please they did everything now!
This looks stunning! I really dig everything about it!
I'm surly getting one as soon as the come out!

The one I'm really looking forward is the HSS with floyd.
I'm gonna get the red one with pau ferro, remove the black pickguard and place the 1 humbucker on a white pickguard.
Always wanted to make this with my American standards, but never had the balls to do it!

    Like Gary Moores Charvel!

It does in England, or possibly if you change your location on the Fender site like I have to see the US one (no sign of the Player there when I posted).

This isn’t a knock on the guitar but just an observation. The price of one of these is now pretty much the same as a used MIA Standard. I will be curious how that pans out. We’ve seen used MIA prices creep up over the years as FMIC has raised the prices on new MIAs. Which would you buy for your money? A ten year old MIA in like new condition or the Fender Player?

I think that must be a typo - the bridge on the photos posted doesn't appear to have piezo saddles.

Suggested retail price...same as shown on Fender web site, and all on-line sites, exclusive of sale prices or any discount you can conjure up.

or v.v. Fenders sugggested retail is duplicated by dealers, and they tow the line with pricing. MF and other mainstream delaers rarely have Fender Guitars "authorized" for discount prices.

I suspect that is an extra cost option and not standard on the guitar.

It didn't say it was an optional extra on the Fender page (which has now disappeared, maybe somebody jumped the gun) this morning. I should have took a screenshot, but I was on my way out.

it's been more than a while since i've seen a clean US Standard of that cheap. $800 or better seems to be where they are at these days. considering you get the 22 frets, alnico pickups and 2 point trem i think that a fair number of folks will be tempted to go new over used even for a US made. a lot of it will depend on how good the pickups are compared to the US model.

I like everything about it except the fretboard. My acoustic(fender) and my lp both have rw and my 1st squier had rw, but to me strats & tele's should be maple.

$700 seems to be the going rate for Am Series / Am Std Strats in good condition. $800 seems more like the asking price. There is a member here with a 2008 selling at $700 and said he’s not getting much interest. The pics make it look pristine. My comment isn’t a knock on the MIM but just how the used MIA market will respond once these become available.

ok well not around here they go for more. granted they are pretty common guitars so i'm sure they sell for less in some places. with the rising cost of new US models the used price will follow. i already see some hre on CL asking for $900
