    Hi,

I’ve been looking for a Fiesta Red Strat with a Maple Fretboard, but I’m having trouble finding one that I like. Perhaps a little education might help . . .

Sorry to say I don’t like artificially distressed or roadworn guitars or I would probably go for one of the many Vintera Roadworn guitars out there. There are quite a few Classic Vibe Squiers, either ‘50’s or ‘60’s some Crafted in Indonesia, some in China, but I’m not sure about these, I try to buy US made, but do have a couple of MIM Strats that I really like. Am I pre-judging the Squiers?

I’m looking on ebay and Reverb and these are all some distance so playing them is not an option. I can usually make a guitar play the way I like.

I’d appreciate any advice on my best choice.

    Thanks

    Ian

I have no experience with Squiers , other members give them high marks. If I had a choice , I’d prefer your color and neck preference in an American standard.

I know its expensive, but I dialed up a Fiesta Red with Maple Neck on the Fender Mod Shop site just to see what was available. I think I specified Texas Special pickups, the thickest neck they offered, and I don't remember what else for about $1,800.

The perfect one might be a California Series in Fiesta Red w/Maple neck

One option might be to go the Warmoth route. . . . I can make it exactly how I want then . . .

I’m currently building a fiesta red hard tail with a maple neck! Impeccable taste!

If I go the Warmoth route I was thinking about making it a Hardtail. I built a Graffiti Yellow hardtail at the beginning of the the lockdown, roasted alder body, roasted maple neck. Definitely one of my favorites new . . .

In 2008, I got a "Classic 50s" Strat in Fiesta Red with a maple neck. They were quite common then. I wonder if you could find a used one? They do have vintage size frets, though, and made in Mexico.

Japanese Hank Marvin Signature, if you can find one. There are both Fender and Squier versions.
