We were the worst team at the bottom of the lowest division in France...that’s some kind of distinction!:D

Forgot to mention, we started with 9 players and ended with 7 players for our 12-1! :whistling:;)

Some good matches today, Germany looked iffy to start. South Africa and Nigeria both imploded though, they're going to need some serious improvement. The US will be interesting to watch, ranked #1 in the world but not playing to the level France or England are at. Offense has been anemic and theres huge question marks at defense and goalkeeping. Personally, I'm not confident in the US defense or keepers can hold off the stronger teams when it counts. Alyssa Naeher doesn't seem to have the reactions needed and that defense is stringy. I have zero confidence in Emily Sonnett, she's a serious weak spot in the back...but she's marketable so the federation overlooks that. Keepers never got a chance to work because we had to pad Hope's stats. While I think the whole "equal pay" thing is a nicely timed publicity stunt (they did the same before the Olympics remember), Im fully in favor of giving them the same contract the US men get (after all, the women are actually winners), which means an end to the guaranteed "job" they have to be on the US National team. Be nice to see how things change then. It would kill NWSL, but thats a whole different rant.

Not on tv here so I missed it...will catch England v. Scotland tonight.
A lot of the group matches (and some knockout round games) will only be shown on Canal + here, a (fairly expensive) cable channel that I don’t have anymore....
    I hate this elitist stuff...

I'm happy to enjoying some great football on the tv for the past few days, cutting in and out as time permits. It's a much more honest game than the male version, easy to watch. My only problem is that I'm English, living in Ireland and having to watch the games with Irish commentary!

Brazil look like they could be serious contenders for the title. Very skilful and confident

Well, I’m giving it a try! England v Scotland.
It seems like a very polite, skilled Southern League game.
Very little arguing with the ref, saying sorry when people fall down and not much fouling.
All a bit “odd” so far.
But my biggest shock, @Mansonienne , they aren’t playing with a pink ball? :p

But England are pretty tight. I think the Scottish warrior spirit woke up there in the second half...
