La bamba. Not bad for a 11 year old. I nailed that way back in the day. It's still my fav riff.

I would love to say "Stairway to Heaven" or something equally cool, but i'm in the same boat. Smoke on the Water.

My father was listening to the record over and over trying to figure it out and taught it to me. That being the first thing I played way back in the day, you'd think I'd be a better player by now!

Up until a few years ago I was a strict rythmn metal guitarist that never went beyond the top four strings. I've started to teach myself a lot in the last few years with other music and sometimes it makes me feel like i'm just starting again. It's never too late and you never stop improving.

Just last night, remembered that one of the very first riffs I ever learned was the main riff of Slayer's Final Command.
On a classical acoustic, before I'd ever touched an electric.

I tip my hat to you indeed. Slayer on an acoustic would be awesome.

I did a tribute to Bob Dylan a year ago and included the riff in an acoustic version of Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues.
Only my good buddy caught it.
