First time for everything, doesn’t look too shabby.

Lollar Tweeds, CRL 5-way switch, CTS pots, .047 Sprague cap, standard wiring scheme.

Second photo is what I pulled out of the guitar, Kinman Noiseless HX.

That's a tidy job! Feels good doing your own work, doesn't it? How does she sound?

DIY feels better. Very glassy, piano like sound I was hoping for, and not much noisier than the Kinmans.

My only problem is that now I’d like a new project haha.

Nice. Took me 'til the third one for my wiring to be as neat as yours.

I haven't opened up the first two since I got'em up and running - I'm kinda scared. I'm pretty sure a monkey could have done a better job, especially with the soldering.

The cloth wire is nice to work with because it holds its shape so well, it also has a killer look to it with the black and beige.

I’d like to work on getting cleaner solder puddles, I cleaned them up a little after this photo, but I started to worry I was burning out the pots from having heat on them too long.

Nicely done! :) Great wire management.

    Was that lead free solder?

Pretty cool, very open and defined. And they interact with my germanium Sunface way better than the Kinmans did. I’d highly recommend

Just been messing with a guitar I built 20 tears ago. Shown it on here before, started with a lump of sapele and knock off Strat neck. Anyways, needed to change the volume pot, took off the guard and, well, no pics ‘cos I can’t believe it did happen. I was thinking of doing it again and your job’s convinced me I’ve no choice! Just ordered new pots, caps and socket. If it turns out 1/2 as good as yours I’ll be a happy little solderer!

    Lump of sapele eh?
How did that strat turn out?
    Heavy I guess?
    What finish did you use?
How'd the sapele take the finish?
I have sapele I'd like to use to make a strat or maybe a tele or maybe both bodies. Any advice would be appreciated.

Well, as per above, I’ve now rewired the guitar with new pots, caps. and jack socket. Still not up to the OP’s standard but pretty pleased with myself. On top of swapping pups in my Strat, as posted earlier, I reckon I’m doing OK. Texas specials on order for my AmPro Tele so next job lined up. This forum is certainly inspirational to me!

It’s actually more of a Tele shape with 2 Dimarzio HBs. Just rewired it with new pots, socket and scratch plate. Once it’s all together I’ll post a pick. I left it natural with a coat of gloss and, yes, it’s pretty heavy.

Just finished, working well. Not the best pics. But you get the idea.

    Cool.
I'd like to see that allWrighty.:thumb:
Being honest I think for my first build a Tele would be an easier undertaking.
Hope it goes together well for you.
