So I know that some people really love this stuff some could care less and some people really hate this. But I really love how a surf green worn guitar looks and I don't have three grand to spend for that 62 reissue custom shop model.

Anyway I had my partscaster sent out to the Dax company and I am very happy how it turned out. Its a very nice feeling, looking and of course great sounding guitar. Here are some pics I took and Dax took.

    Finally...

A third party that did it right.

It looks great, much better than showroom new IMHO. Great color.

Good for you for sharing something you like, knowing that people will chime in with strong opinions that differ from yours. I, myself, am in the middle of a relic build, so I am a fan of a tastefully done job.

Enjoy your guitar! Life is too short to live how other people want you to.

Yeah I hear ya. And it wasn't much money total put into this thing. I guess if you get a CS Relic Model for $3k at least you have something that holds its value unlike mine. But I like it. I could have just waited for the wear to come naturally but I don't gig out anymore, its a poly guitar and I'm 40 so wanted to speed up the process before I die.

And yes I do like worn things like used baseball gloves, broken in khakis/jeans from the Gap, and distressed looking floors and furniture. I don't like my cars rusted or my tools beat to death. I guess I am saying some things I like worn looking/feeling and others I don't.

I like it, screw everyone else. They never bought jeans that were given a certain wash to make them look "broken in"? It is your cash, and your axe. And I doubt you have trouble selling it in the end.

Actually looks really nice. Very well done, and tastefully authentic looking. Not like some atrocities we have seen here.

Actually I asked that it be done about this much. Not overkill to the point like I actually set it on fire on stage or dragged it by a truck.

Glad you like the finished product. I will still never understand this relic thing. I kind of get the worn in neck as it feels a bit better (although not perfect since it was not the players hand making the wear) but the beat up body to simulate 20+ years of heavy playing I just don't see the draw considering it's purely for looks. I have never bought pre aged jeans (actually haven't owned a pair of jeans in 21 years) and for vintage cars I like em pretty and not beat up. Probably goes back to my skateboarding days when we would see kids "relic" their boards by rubbing them on curbs to simulate all the rail slides and grinds the claimed to have done. I will say that yours is one of the most tasteful ones I've seen done.
