Many of the best, certainly the oldest, ancient shipwrecks have been found and excavated here.
I suppose big trading place? East meets West? I used to work as a diving instructor in my early 20s... dived a lot of Japanese WWII wrecks in Subic Bay in the Phils... very different era! But fascinating nonetheless.
