I don't remember if it was this forum, but I did relate how we used to use 6-7 soda cans taped together to make a lighter fluid fueled tennis ball cannon somewhere on the internet. Those were the days when every once in a while you would hear of someone in the 'hood losing an eye or a digit.

Here is roughly how we did it:

I would totally take it, but my wife said I'm not allowed to have two. :)

I couldn't afford to gas that baby up … and the liability insurance would probably kill me too .

Turn it into a condo. Maybe bury it in the ground, like one of those 'survival' homes.

I know right? I'd take it too, but the two I've got sitting out back are taking up all the room. I have room for a LEM though, if one of those are available. Make a good little get-away-from-it-all pod.

Yes, I had several as a kid, even built my own (very easily done).
These things would "skip" like crazy after sunset...it's how I first heard the Blues and R&B in the mid 50's

I've walked around Saturn V rockets at the Hunstville space & rocket center, they're huge! It would be pretty cool to convert one of those into a house, but moving it would be a major undertaking.

Per wikipedia, Stage 1 is 138 feet long and 33 feet in diameter. And empty, 287,000 lbs.

I got to see Apollo 17 on the pad from a distance soon before launch. Part of the NASA tour of that time. We toured the VAB, which itself is an amazing structure.

I was hoping we would get to see the launch, but our family trips were more like a National Lampoon adventure. Still, it was very cool to experience.
