I recently have developed a very bad problem. I can't lay down to sleep. For about 10 days now if I try to lay down to sleep I get very bad chest pain. I now try to sleep sitting up in a chair but if I lean my back against the chair the bad surging chest pain starts it feels like my heart is being crushed. I went to the hospital last Saturday and I went back on thursday. They gave me pills for acid reflux but that had no effect. Then on Thursday they said its muscular or anxiety and gave me valium. Nothing is helping the pain lasts about 12 hours and then it goes away. The last couple nights I can't even sit it hurts to much. So I stand in front of my fan set on high blowing on my chest. The cold seems to make it less painful. I'm going to doctor this morning again. I hope he can help me :(

That sounds horrible. Hopefully they will examine you properly rather then just giving you more pills.

Sorry you're going through this Jesse414-
Sounds like that hospital is incompetent. In these times, its common.
Please advocate for yourself. Push back against half hearted treatments, question everything!
    Praying for you.
    All the best, Dan

Did the hospital physicians run any tests, like X-rays or CT scan or MRI ?

I hope you can get some relief, buddy.
    Good Luck

    Keep us posted

Have you met a cardiologist for this? It could be as harmless as acid reflux but it could also be something more severe and you don't want to wait for it to get worsen.

Good luck finding out what it is. I had something similar, although was clearly worse when taking anything other than shallow breaths. It ended up being costochondroiditis, which comes back from time to time but is relatively benign.

Yikes!!!!….. that sounds terrible! Hope you sort this out immediately.

Any chance you did some heavy work where you strained your chest muscles? Strain a chest wall muscle anywhere around your heart and it feels like a heart attack. I’ve done that twice. Then one kinda freaks out which raises your blood pressure and makes it even worse. Hope for the best buddy!

I'm sorry to hear youre going through this! I hope they get a diagnosis and treatment plan that works today, or at least get you closer to a treatment plan.

Tested for COVID? I had chest pain and shortness of breath in Jan/Feb/March 2020 before there were tests and I am sure that it was COVID. Took a lot longer than two weeks to recover which was the thought for how long COVID lasted at the time.

let us know what the results are.
if i were you i would demand they do some proper tests on you and not just send you out with a valium.
all doctors are not created equal.....some need to have their licenses revoked.
i went to a doc in hicktown usa in about 2017 or 2018 and he said nothing was wrong with my heart. i hadnt told him i was born with severe aortic stenosis.
