Why I asked about the reciprocal agreement. If there is one you are just as screwed as you would have been in your own state.

I have always been able to plea down to "5 over". No points on the license and does not affect your auto insurance - in PA anyway. LEOs still get their revenue.

My last interaction with a LEO astounded me. I was in a really pissed off mood and made a stupid illegal pass around someone driving ~10 mph below the posted limit. As soon as I did it, spotted the unmarked car work its way behind me a several cars back. Sh!t. Busted!

My modified turbocharged car is capable of blindingly quick passing on demand, especially in second gear. Was not the first or last time. No excuse I know.

The LEO followed me through his township, then another and finally my own. Just as I was nearly home the lights came on. Great, here we go...

"License and registration". I admitted being a total asshat and literally said "I have no defense". Back to his car, looked up me info and got a surprisingly friendly but stern warning upon his return. I have few violations all pleaded down, so that was that.

If you really feel you were wronged this is your best hope. Some State Troopers do not like having to come off their posts to appear in court especially in a county that may be very distant from where they live or typically patrol sitting around waiting for their case to be called.

I've used it only once when I felt I was clearly in the right and it worked. I sat for two hours while the county attorney kept beating on me between cases to plead to a lower speed but refused 'til she finally had to admit her officer was a no show. So sometimes it can work but not always.

About 2 years ago I got a ticket in Whitehall NY a tiny little village on the Hudson River that borders Vermont (where I was heading). 39 mph in a 30 mph zone and it cost me $213 so be prepared to get really frustrated with this purely revenue-generating tactic. On the other hand, you'll likely never speed on the way to Cornell again!

You are the last guy on this site that I would expect to hear this from. But I guess we are all human. This sounds like a @heltershelton move.

    140+ plus tickled me testes.

It was me and me only on the perfect stretch of freshly laid tarmac.

    No regrets.

In 1974 I lived in South Carolina and I got a ticket going 151 mph in a 45 mph zone, a super built '67 fastback Mustang. Ticket was speeding, careless and reckless driving, life endangerment. I was arrested and taken to the station, had to post bail
The arresting officer ask why I was going so fast...I told him I was testing my brakes because I had brake fade at high speeds and wanted to test my new brakes. He said he goes though brakes every 6 months himself. We had a good car talk on the way to the station. Lost my license for a year.
I live in the pacific NW now and I know the roads I can get my thrills on, C5 vette 183 is the fastest I could get it. Sold it to help with my grand kids college tuitions. Sure miss that car!

    Off topic, somewhat...

You want a rush? Participate in a track day. Performance Driving Event.

High speed in a straight line is one thing. Going around left and right turns on an F1 style racetrack at maximum speed is quite another.

Did this in 2012 in my substantially modified 2004 WRX. I learned that I would make a sh!tty race car driver, but held my own on the challenging course.

I left the track once, spinning into the infield, at 87+mph. It was terrifying and exhilarating at the same time.

I managed a clocked 120 mph on the straight, into a hard right turn on the back side of the course.

Sorry typo, I fixed it now so thanks for noticing. Hopefully sounds more logical now!
HOWEVER, the 31 mph speed limit DOES exist elsewhere:

I drive a lot of miles in a year
    IMHO avoid excessive speeding:
    on 75 through Ga
65 through Indiana especially near louisville ky
Leaving Breckenridge to get on I70
    OHIO (EVERYWHERE)
    West Va Near Beckley (64?)
    IL near Effingham 57
as others have stated its best to be (at the time) apologetic and respectful
