My vote goes to Sympathy for the Devil.

Fun fact...I had a teacher in high school who HATED the Stones specifically because of that song. He was very religious and was very much offended by the title.

My choice, too. This song has it all, including best lead solo ever.

I would agree with that other than the version of My Generation on The Who Live at Leeds album is such a great performance that it just pips Won't get fooled again.
I did see The Who do Won't get fooled again live in the mid 70's and that was amazing too.

I agree and although Stairway breaks some rules in song writing...ie speeding up,slowing down....Jimmy Page is the BOMB.......

It's got to be "Stairway to Heaven" or "Brown Sugar" imo.

I like some of the other choices, but I'll throw Like a Rolling Stone into the mix.

"Meet the new Boss... same as the old boss!" Best line ever written...Won't Get Fooled Again by the Who!

Brown Sugar by the Stones does it for me. Best riff ever.

Roger Daltry's scream at the climax of Won't Get Fooled Again may be the single best scream in rock. When I saw this post, that song immediately came to mind.

Wait a minute. I need to change my vote...

    Kashmir.

Thats my final answer. That song always makes me wish I was marching through the desert.
