In 76 I had a Bultaco Alpina 250. What a friggin great bike. We could get on the power lines in Burke, VA and with the exception of a bridge or two, we could ride to Fredericksburg and back or to Richmond if we stayed out longer.

I remember riding brands like CZ, Ossa, Maico...good gravy we had a blast.

I remember (sort of) a race I did at Saddleback Park around 1971. A 'freak' rain came through and dropped just enough water to make the dirt pit area a vehicle death pit. The parking/pit area was all clay and sloped. Water plus clay equals a big sticky mess. They brought a full on tracked cat in to save us but it got stuck also. :p Fortunately, the clay solidified just enough for the cat to dig us out. I don't remember a damn'd thing about the race................ they might have canceled it as it was just a regional deal. I do remember the dried clay was almost impossible to remove from the underside of my vehicle.
