So I just picked this amazing amp up in a trade for a Vox AC15 with a local musician. This amp was actually build by my friend and guitar tech Jim Magee here in Lafayette. It is a handwired weber kit with a vintage marshall G12 in it housed in a beautiful Mahogany cabinet. This amp has tone for days. It puts all the reissued i have played to shame. The natural drive on this amp is heavenly. Once I was able to open her up i felt my Strat Breathing Fire like never before. I'll try to post pictures of the chasis and wiring when i am able to.
It sounds amazing really. I have a 67 Bandmaster with the same circuit but the character is different. It likely has something to do with the 6v6 vs the 6l6. I never thought I’d own a handwired deluxe like this and man it just blows me away honestly. My wife asked me why I traded the Vox and I told her because it was one of my dream amps
I think I might sand it down some and add some Nitro or something to make it look like the back of a les paul, that would be awesome!
