At least that’s what I’m calling it because I’m finally seeing the legend that is Mr. Carlos Santana for the first time this evening at our big outdoor amphitheater here. He’s been on the bucket list for a looong time, too long. Really looking forward to it, already been playing some Latin electric jams, Stratocaster style, this morning. Feels good, I’m ready!

I've only seen him, once, back in 'the day'. One of the more memorable shows at Market Square Arena.

    Favorite album: Moonflower

That's great! Enjoy the show! I'm seeing him later this month. The last time I saw him was back in the 90's when he was on tour with Keb Mo and Jeff Beck. Carlos was absolutely stunning. He really seems like he has something flowing through him that is directly from the universe.

I've only seen him once, must have late 80s, early 90s. After seeing some recent stuff I don't think he's lost anythin . Should be good

Ive seen him 4 times. He has a lot of hits and a lot of misses but, his shows are top notch.

    One of my biggest inspirations.

I got a guitar pick from him in the 80s in SF. I kept it for years until we lost our home in the fire. I actually enailed his fan club and they sent me another pick. Most likely not actually from his hand but Im still stoked to have it.

Had the pleasure of seeing him a few times- the first on his "Inner Secrets" tour in Nuremberg Germany (I was stationed there) 1978. The "Devadip" Orchestra opened for him...woodwinds and unusual to say the least, but his regular band was AWESOME! He is one of my favorites and hopefully, in my own style, I channel a little of him. Michael Shrive was on drums...just a fantastic concert!

HAVE A GREAT TIME. It'll be "one to remember", I'm sure!

    Best to You and Yours,

    Brian

I assume you mean on the 12th at Hollywood Amphitheater. My brother and I will be there as well. Can't wait...first time for me seeing Santana or the Doobies! Enjoy the show!

Santana is one artist I would make sacrifices to go see if he toured around this neck of the woods again, which I don't see happening. He's one of my favorite guitar players. He has a special place in my heart not only because of his music and playing, but also because he's latino like moi. Enjoy!

I’ve never seen Santana live but his music has been an inspiration to me. I’d see him if he were touring here.

Being a kiddo growing up in San Francisco, I got to see him playing more times than I could count - never disappointing, always an inspiration.
