I've been wanting a hardtail Strat with a purple metallic finish and Ash body for a long time. The Custom Shop is a few thousand out of budget so I set off to building it. My goal was to use smaller manufacturers with a good reputation wherever possible(minus accoutrement). It took a few months to sell some gear and get all the parts, but I finally put the finishing touches on this last weekend and I couldn't be happier with it.

-Bloomdoom Ash Hardtail in Crown Royal Purple Metallic
-Freestone Roasted Curly Maple Neck w/ Dark Rosewood Board
-Tom Brantley Early 60's Pickups
-CTS 450G Pots w/ Oak Switch
-Callaham Vintage Hardtail Bridge
-Kluson Supreme Tuners
-Graphtech Tusq XL Nut

Nice! I’ve been watching purple MJT bodies on eBay for ages but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
they go for crazy money, way above just ordering one from MJT direct and there's still the shipping charge (used to be 20 dollars, haven't looked in a long time so it's probably more by now). My Lake Placid Blue body was a direct order. I love the Crown Royal Purple, though. Ocean Turquoise Metallic is another. Very hard to find in non-relic.

I watched those MJT auctions for months but the ones that came up were always too reliced for me. Dustin from Bloomdoom gave me a killer price on this one. I paid less than most of the Alder trem bodies on Ebay go for, and he let me choose the level of relic (closet clean) and was happy to answer questions. It's the perfect weight and it rings like a bell.

I’m not much one for purple, but damn if that doesn’t look fine. With the top shelf parts you used, I bet it plays as good as it looks. And kudos for having a sense for composition to photograph it with the purple flowers in the background. Too cool.

I find just the opposite. I'll start watching a bunch of their bodies and forget about them, then find they've all sold for $250 or less when it costs about $400 to just order one. I just need to pay better attention.
