    Dang... I was not thinking Tru Oil. I have not used it personally but I have seen some great results. I did not know it would go to that high a gloss. Too bad the isn't an ACE bandage for sprained spirits. :)

    not a lot of folks will do tru oil to high gloss because, even after 60+ coats, you can burn thru with 1500 grit (ask me how I know!). I don't think I will do it again because nitro/poly/anything else is about 50 times easier! anywho, thank you and all the strat-talk members for your support and encouragement! scratch build #4 is is coming up behind her! jeronimo!

    I've been working on #4 in tandum... so it's really almost done... but I have rosewood binding to contend with... and applying to an already finished top... so it's baby steps for now!

    quiz? awe shucks... all I know I owe to the greatest teacher of all: the internet!

    thank you for taking the time to check it out! I do appreciate!

    I'm a programmer by trade. this is what I do to forget about what I do for a living:eek:.

    I've been asked a few times about doing commissioned builds but I'm just happy pursuing my 'dream guitar bucket list' and don't really want anything getting in the way of that... after all this is my "refuge from the storm", my solitude... my therapy (about the sm price and a better value IMHO)!

    thank you again for your kind comments. It means everything to me.

    I'ld rather be making sawdust than reversing engineering some convoluted, uncommented spaghetti code writing by a jr programmer who thinks they are the cats meow. Sorry... did I say that out loud? ;)

    uncommented >= spaghetti
    if anything... I'm guilty of writing too many comments. I usually start writing the entire program in pseudocode/comments... then go back and add code. after all, if there's comments at least someone knows what you MEANT to write right?

    Sounds like you learned to program in the same era I did and with the same philosophies. I ran about 25% exception handling, and about even on comments and actual code. Heck, if I didn't I would never be able to remember why I did something the way I did. In regards to error handling, a lot of what I see now is like 'if err.number > 0 then quit.' No trapping, just crash and burn. Sorry, getting off topic.

    no worries... I work on old code... so I see a lot of
    while(true)
    several nested statements and multiple potential exits
    endwhile
