Kickin' it Sabbath style \m/
Now I have to go listen to Sabbath.....darn darn darny darn...lol
That wasawesome, I enjoyed it with my morning coffee.
That was quite a work-out !
Great stuff, & big fat tone too.
Hey @Ebidis ! That was some really mean Iommi-style wailing!
Thanks for posting that, you captured the whole Sabbath vibe, really well done.
That's some damn nice playing!
Here's 1:48 of Slayery brutality. I'd been using this song for the past couple of weeks as a practice aid to try and get some of my right hand speed back which has suffered from playing Rolling Stones songs. I was messing with it last night and surprisingly was able to keep up so I figured I'd try to record it. I'm doing my usual Slayer slop solos lol. I'm going to go ice my arm now.
As an introduction to the song, use your best Tom Araya voice when reading
"It's a song about the fear of deathhhh...or the fear of dyingggg...and so many ways you can diiiieeeeee! It goes something like this:"
Necrophobic - Slayer
@Mouse I'm so glad you did the whole song...the teaser in the riff challenge thread was not enough! I've tried to learn that one a few times so I know how tough that is...you make it look too easy!
Thanks bud! I can assure you that when that break came before the solos I was in pain and breathing heavy! (no joke). I had to work up to that speed today for about 20 minutes so by the time it was over, I actually had a pump in my right arm as if I worked out. Getting old sucks!
That was freakin insane. It's like carnage. How the F do you pick like that?? Wicked stuff. The lead was awesome. It's pretty freKin' quick, wild stuff.
Hats off- you are a METAL GOD
Please. Slayer tunes are perfect for me. Pick as fast as you can and no need to worry about pesky things like scales and keys. ALL notes are fair game.
Almost, spit out the coffee.
I can play a few Slayer songs but I think that one is a bit fast for me. Nice playing .
Well done Mouse !!! Slayer is not my thing ( I could never settle into any tune ), but you can appreciate the effort that goes in to letting it all out, as you just displayed !!! \m/
Yep, your whole fore-arm was going at around 140 bpm, so it will need plenty of ice lol. I could never achieve that kind of speed...I'm fully maxed-out at 120-bpm lol !
Great solos, & nice fat tone too. Did you have a Fuzz going ?...
Man, I am tired from that, lol...great fun!
Adrenalized - too much coffeine I am afraid xD.
Holy smokes that would make my right arm paralized for weeks I am sure.
My pick would be scrubbed off in seconds (using celluloid ones as I do from Gibson).
Too much Metal for one hand \m/ \m/
Life is good,
Thanks @Rastus @Strats4me and @Robins
@Rastus On my old Boss eBand, I have a lot of saved tones along with some presets I still like. As the BR-800 has the same amp models and effects, I can recreate my favorites there as well. One of the eBand's presets was called Blood Reign which as the name implies should have been the obvious choice. When I tried it though it wasn't cutting through the mix as I'd have liked. The EQ was oddly set to have very high mids and almost no treble. I ended up using a couple of stock heavy guitar patches on the BR-800 which I thought worked better.
Here's some mid-week Metal Madness from me again...It's good to keep placing logs on this fire, that's for sure \m/ !!!
Such a cool thread.
This tune turned out once again a little more prog-rock than expected, but I went with it, & really dug the super-long riff that came out...Don't ask how or why, it's just one of those good things that comes along once in a while LOL !
I've decided to keep the solo guitar maxed in the mix, since most folks here prefer it that way. Fingers crossed y'all enjoy !!!
@sam_in_cali and I are back with an epic one from our favorite band which anyone following this thread should be able to guess by now. We both agree that this was probably the toughest one we've done so far and made particularly tough since we challenged ourselves to do it in one take. With that, please excuse the hiccup or two. I don't know about Scott but I'm not recording that again.
Another great one bud. You're killing it on those solos and harmonies which were a royal PIA!!!
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
Holy hell, man, your fingers at the 8:10 mark...geeezus
Ya, that one was a bear....let's never do that again!
j/k...I thank you for the challenge!
I just realized I looked exactly like I felt with that cold and all the meds I was on, haha
Yeeeeeessssssss!! So it shall be written, so it shall be done! You guys rocked it. My son had to write an essay on any song from a band that one of their parents listens to. I tried to get him to pick this one, but he chose Aces High instead. This is the song and album that started the Maiden Movement for me. Great song! Great job. The boy approves too. Keep 'em comin'.
Slowly unveiling the power he holds,
Damn! Sorry...I had to watch it again. That looks like a blast.
