Hopefully be part of a band in the future.

    Hello cousin!

James Campbell here, I'm sure you know a few of those there. Father's side is nearly 100% Scot (great grandmother was Welsh). Mother, who is adopted, had her DNA done by ancestry and came back more than half Celtic, some Iberian peninsula (sailor from the Spanish Armada who were rescued or washed ashore on the British Isles and some Italian/Greek- Roman from the occupation).

It's always interesting to find out about people's Scottish heritage, it says cool to see so many people have ancestors from here :) Pics of my gear will be up shortly.
Thanks for such a friendly reception!

On a sad note, speaking of Scottish heritage, it will be a sad day when my father passes away (regardless LOL).

Reason being is that will be just that. No more Scottish Accent. None really in my house, I suppose. My kids will only grow up remembering their Scottish heritage through me.

As said, my parents came to Canada in 1968. My Dad first finding work, then followed by my Mum & two older brother's flying from Prestwick. I was born in Toronto in 1973. First of any of our family outside of the UK.

Mum passed away from cancer in '06. Once my Dad passes away (not for while I hope, he's in great health) that will end the generation, and I will witness the passing of one to the other. Instead of Googling where we were from, I'll see the last of the Scot's on this side of the pond pass, and with it that great Never Fading Accent, one of which I've had to "translate" many a night for girls I've brought home, or friends stopping by.

Pretty soon we'll all be just Canadian's...........not that that's bad, trust me..........but, well, hard to explain over a laptop.

Luckily, I am still very close to all my family in the UK, and for that I am thankful.

    I have grandparents from prestwick!
The amount of times I've had to speak slower and clearer for any Americans or English I've spoken to.... The Scottish accent is very unique. It'll be a shame to lose it in your family!
