Mods, if this is wrong section please move - wasn't sure where to post it.

DILEMMA: I need to order a single Hipshot replacement tuner, and some replacement buttons. I live in the UK, and Hipshot want to charge me a minimum of $60 shipping to the UK. NO UK dealers carry this stock, annoyingly.

SOLUTION: Is there anyone here in the US who would be willing to order the parts for me to be delivered to their home, and then ship on to the UK - I expect it will be a tiny small padded envelope, and will cost significantly less than the $60 that Hipshot charge for USPS overseas. Transaction done via PayPal I guess.

    Thanks in advance

Already tried, they dont have the tuner I need (open gear grip lock treble side 20mm post black)

Actually, this is the correct tuner post, but they are unable to confirm what the post length is *facepalm*

Price to me would be almost 40 dollars US shipped to me just for that single tuner. I just shipped an envelope with 4 sets of guitar strings to someone in the U.K. the shipping was almost 30 dollars. I am on the west coast though. Have someone who is on the east coast US see if their shipping rate would be better to U.K. also customs declaration may get you as well. But I will do it if you want me to.

For anything imported below a value of £135 (incl postage) - no duty is payable. You will be charged 20% VAT on the declared value plus the postage. Then Royal Mail will charge you an additional £15 handling fee.

Sounds like a losing proposition either way. Maybe the OP should make it good if it comes down to it, and just order a whole set of these tuners. Then he would already have spares for the next time he needs one. Shipping wouldn’t get much worse.

He looks more of a "Bloke" than a "Chap".

You would never understand the subtle differences between chaps, blokes, fellows and lads, so we won't bother trying to explain. :)

Yes, but I understand enough to know that it should be "old fellow" in this forum ;)

Yes, you prove my point perfectly. The "old fellow" is something different, best not mentioned at all here. :D
