I'm almost ready to move on to another beginner song to learn. I'm horrible at choosing! Suggestions?

What genre do you like? You want just chords or bit of lead type stuff too?

This was one of the first strummers I ever tried. The electric guitar is played on 12 string by the last great Carole Hunter. I know it’s like 50 years old. But it’s a good strumming song.

When I started, I listened to early Clapton and tried to learn his riffs. Just the easiest ones at first. Like this kind of thing:

Marty has a great channel on YouTube, it's no BS straight to the point and great for beginners. I suggest you look through his classic rock list of songs that he goes through, lots to pick from. Here's one you might like:thumb:

An old friend of mine has finally decided to get more serious about playing. He likes mellower classic rock and I put him on Knockin' On Heaven's Door. It's easy, slow, easy to sing, and can be embellished as you improve as you can hear in this version featuring Mark Knofler.

Knocking on Heaven's Door (Dylan) and Dead Flowers (Stones) are easy three chord songs and you can whip them out at a jam and almost everyone will know how to play them. Also House of the Rising Sun, but I think you're looking at five chords there rather than three. It is a good song to learn to integrate the dreaded barred F chord into your playing.

Yes. It has some stuff that's pretty easy, and some other more complicate parts that are challenging. A lot of the Clapton-Mayall stuff is like that. It really gives excellent building blocks to use on other things.

Ummm ... you have just one? EEK3.gif I usually have several I work on. Even way back when was just getting started.

    Try this site: https://www.shutupandplay.ca/

A fair amount of it is more advanced, but some easy stuff is there too.

Semi-Charmed Life. Good for your right hand and for building muscle memory for changes in the key of G.
